We will all be hurt because everything we need and buy is shipped through the use of some kind of oil based fuel.

"However, Jason Schenker, president and chief economist at Prestige Economics, disagrees. He expects that while $3 a gallon gas may change the behavior of lower-income consumers, it won't impact others unless prices climb above the $4-mark." What a rocket scientist! And I believe it will impact the uber-rich when it reaches $15.00 per gallon.

If the media doesn't stop conditioning people into acceptance of higher fuel prices, it will be sure to happen. Our prices have been dropping steadily for the last week.

HDRJR: Simple answer but not practical in places that get winter weather. Also totally impractical for families with kids, or when you have to transport anything larger than what can fit into a backpack.

Who's hurt? Drivers with a long commute, that's who. Some of us have been forced to drive further because of jobs and the house prices tumbled so we can't move either.

One thing which can be done is reduce driving. If travel is intended, then look for other resources of transportation. The automobile isn't the only way to get around!

Carpooling, buses, subways, trains, bicycles, airplanes, and walking are other resources available, so we should put them to use as well. Sooner or later, the market will change.

Everybody is hurt by these prices as they are about to bring on the deeper dip of the double dip recession (depression).

High prices do hurt everybody and the O bummer economy too! It does not help when big oil and the refiners are creating false shortages by producing less fuel and raising the fuel prices at the pump. Driving less, using less fuel has no affect and conservation does not work. Those speculators will keep fuel prices up - because they can.
*I don't buy enough gas for it to make much difference.* Time to get a bicycle?

Higher fuel prices hurt everyone everywhere regardless of their income.

Even if you are not in the lower income brackets, where it takes a larger percentage of your income to pay for fuel, you pay for higher fuel prices and surcharges that bring everything to consumers.

We are the loser. We know why gas is high. We vote but yet we allow our CROOKS IN CONGRESS to sell their vote to the banks and oil co.'s. If we all got together we could effect a more fair and equitable system. Can we get together ? I doubt it.
